On February 27, 1988 the Azerbaijani authorities began the extermination of the Armenian population in the city of Sumgait, 20 km away from Baku, which was accompanied by looting and destruction of the property of local Armenians. Papik Arushanyan, one of the Armenians displaced from Baku, settled in the village of Mets Ayrum  [in Lori province] with his family. Below is a video made by Alaverdi’s Ankyun+3 TV which tells the story of the displaced family.
