Avetisyans live in rundown temporary shelter in Gyumri (video)

Regions
Untitled3-1

Domiks – wagon-like temporary tin shelters – were placed in Botanical Garden in Gyumri after the devastating earthquake of 1988. Inhabitants of these houses gradually moved elsewhere over years. However, there are still several families living in these poorly lit and heated shacks which are made of tin and wood. The family of Avetisyans lives in the centre of the green area, just next to tall poplars. The house that covers 130 square meters is completely destroyed. Though the Avetisyans are not considered ‘a homeless family,’ they have been living in a domik since 1988.
