Monument to USSR Marshal Hamazasp Babajanyan unveiled in Yerevan (video)
Serzh Sargsyan attended the unveiling of a statue of Hamazasp Babajanyan, the USSR hero and Chief Marshal of the USSR armored troops.
The ceremony took place at the square near Babajanyan Street, in Avan administrative district of Yerevan. The sculptor of the statue is Hamlet Matinyan and the artchitect is Mikael Misakyan.
The ceremony was attended by Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Commanding general, United States Army Europe Lieutenant General Frederick Ben Hodges, the U.S. Adjutant General of Kansas Lee Tafanelli, foreign military attaches, member of Gardman patriotic union.
Serzh Sargsyan laid a wreath at the monument and paid tribute to the memory of prominent figure.
