Levon Aghasyan becomes winner at Athens Athletics Tournament
Armenia’s Levon Aghasyan came first at the Athens International Qualifying Tournament but failed to qualify for the Rio Olympics, the National Olympics Committee of Armenia repots. Aghasyan scored 16m 16cm in the long jump event and came first among 7 participants. The norm for men which would allow qualifying for the Olympics was 16m 85cm. n the women’s competition, Armenia’s Amalya Sharoyan jumped 6 m 33cm. Here the norm was 6m 70cm. The team members will continue fighting for the Rio Olympics qualifications at Tirana’s qualifier on May 21.
