Karabakh recognition bill not included in NA agenda: Vote on bill thwarted

The debate on an opposition bill obligating Armenia to recognize Artsakh as an independent state was thwarted at the start of the four-day session of the Armenian National Assembly. The bill received 12 votes in favour. The other MPs did not participate in the vote. Before the start of the four-day, the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations discussed the measure proposed by two opposition parliamentarians – Zaruhi Postanjyan and Hrant Bagratyan. The bill was rejected by the Committee, after receiving one vote in favour, one against. The other six members of the Committee did not participate in the vote.
