THE WITNESSES DON'T REMEMBER WHETHER THEY HAVE BEEN BEATEN BY MUSHEGH SAGHATELYAN

Today the trial on case for Mushegh Saghatelyan, the former head of Penitentiaries Department went on. Hovhannes Aghiaryan, regarded as a victim by the Colonels' matter, announced that he had been beaten but didn't remember whom by. He didn't remember either Mushegh Saghatelyan.

The victim also noted that he hadn't been treated so badly because Artsrun Margaryan, the Commander of Inner Forces had been aware of that he had been accused of only having placed offices at Colonels disposal.

The prosecutor considering contradiction of preliminary and judicial investigations testimonies solicited the judges for making public the victim's testimony given in preliminary investigation. By the way, the prosecutor was reading out the testimony with costs, i.e., while mentioning the names of those who had beaten the victim the prosector read only Mushegh Saghatelyan's name which caused resentment by Saghatelyan's councel for the defence. " If You read, read the whole or don't distort the sentence!",- said counsel for the defence Robert Grigoryan.

The witness Varosyan announced that he didn't remember who exactly had beaten him as long time had passed. The prosecutor made public the preliminary investgation testimony which said that Colonel Aghamalov had been beaten by Vazgen Sargsyan, Movses Geghangulyan, Artsrun Margaryan and Mushegh Saghatelyan. According to the testimony, the latter had been beating unmercifully as if he wanted to prove his respect to Vazgen Sargsyan. But in the Court Hall the same witness asserted for several times that Vazgen Sargsyan had been beating more unmercifully than Mushegh Saghatelyan. The defendant objected to the afore-mentioned assertion saying that the testimony was made public to discredit Vazgen Sargsyan.

The trial will continue on Monday, probably the defendant will be examined.
