EU Commissioner: Karabakh conflict has no military solution

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is on a working visit to Prague, met with the EU Commissioner on European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn. They discussed the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone created as a result of the Azerbaijani large-scale offensive along the Line of Contact. The Armenian Foreign Minister briefed Mr Hahn on the joint efforts of Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards overcoming the consequences of Azerbaijan’s aggression and creating a favourable climate for resuming talks. The parties stressed that the conflict has no military solution. Johannes Hahn noted that the EU supports the efforts of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards the peaceful settlement of the conflict. Armenian FM and the EU Commissioner discussed Armenia-EU relations, expressing satisfaction with the process of talks on the new legal framework. They also attached importance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
