Two Armenian officers killed in Artsakh during the latest skirmishes were registered at the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry as volunteer donors for bone marrow transplants. Hovsep Kirakosyan and Ashot Shahbazyan registered as ABMDR donors from 2006 to 2010 during an annual event organised by the Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan. “The loss of each Armenian soldier is great sorrow from all of us,” says Frieda Jordan, Co-Founder and President of the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry. “Today when we found out that Hovsep Kirakosyan and Ashot Shahbazyan were donors for our foundation we felt profound sorrow at their death and sincere admiration for their heroism and self-sacrifice. Still, since the years of their study, they were ready to save human lives not only on the battlefield, but also in non-combat conditions by help people diagnosed with blood cancer. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of fallen soldiers and officers.”
