At present, our primary concern is our unity, but unity implies definite actions and, first of all, by the authorities, head of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, Levon Zurabyan, said during the parliamentary briefings. “The opposition can only speak. We need not be dealt with the draft Electoral Code, but as you see we continue discussing it because the next elections are scheduled for 2017. But I have got the impression that the authorities do not realize that they must be concerned about the existence of Artsakh, rather than their own reproduction,” Mr Zurabyan said. “What we witnessed in the National Assembly yesterday was nothing but a shame: the government brought discussions down to the level of petty tricks. The blatant violations of the NA regulations during the yesterday sitting were unacceptable. We urge the government to sober up and review their actions,” Zurabyan said. His second message was addressed to his colleagues from the opposition camp. “Mutual accusations are unacceptable. The target of the true opposition should always be the government. Though we have been comparatively reserved after April 2, we do not forget that our criticism, though not so harsh as before, is addressed to the authorities,” the head of the HAK faction said. In reply to a journalist’s question whether the aforesaid restraint might become a trait of character for the HAK, Mr Zurabyan said, “If you think that we shall follow Lenin’s example and declare the defeat of their own country, we shall not give you that enjoyment.” “This is politics, this is not a psychological game of causing someone sufferings or pleasure,” Zurabyan added in reply to the observation that ‘the authorities are delighted by their restraint.’
