On April 13, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) fined Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC by in the amount of AMD 5 million for violating the rights and interests of consumers. When explaining its decision the PSRC said the ENA failed to perform its obligations and check electricity meters of citizens once a year. Earlier, the ENA promised to check electricity meters in December 2015 but failed to do it. In February 2016, the PSRC received complaints from citizens concerning deviations of adjustment of metered data from electricity meters as a result of which citizens suffered monetary losses. All citizens seeking out compensation for the losses can apply to the court. Alternatively, they can apply to the PSRC asking to check their meters. Once violations are detected they can demand compensation from the ENA if violations are detected.
