Our quartet had a concert in Beirut
Alexander Aroutyunian Woodwind-piano quartet, an ensemble of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, had a concert in the concert hall “G and H. Armenyan” of the cultural centre “Levon Shant” under the patronage of the National Regional Committee of Lebanon. The members of the quartet are Lilit Zakaryan (piano), Gevorg Avetisyan (flute), Davit Gyulamiryan (clarinet) and Nikolay Poghosyan (bassoon). Among their music fans was the head of the International Festival “Al Bustan” who also attended the concert. By the way the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, its artistic director and principal conductor Sergey Smbatyan visited Beirut upon the invitation of the festival. The quartet presented the musical pieces of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Khachaturian, Arutyunian and many others. The audience highly appreciated the performances of this unique ensemble and saluted its musicians with standing ovation. As for the creation o the ensemble, Alexander Aroutyunian Woodwind-piano quartet was formed in remembrance of 95-th anniversary of the outstanding composer Alexander Aroutyunian. The main purpose of the ensemble is to strengthen the ties between generations, as well as to contribute in the preservation and recognition of the Armenian musical heritage. The debut of the quartet was on October 28, 2015.
