Although corruption is still rife globally, more countries improved their scores in the 2015 edition of Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index than declined. Overall, two-thirds of the 168 countries on the 2015 index scored below 50, on a scale from 0 (perceived to be highly corrupt) to 100 (perceived to be very clean). The index covers perceptions of public sector corruption in 168 countries. Yet, the 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index clearly shows an increase in the perceived level of corruption in Armenia. The research shows that in comparison with 2014, the corruption perception index in the country has increased by two points. Armenia came 95th in the list of 168 countries. According to the report, Armenia is close to Suriname, Mali, Mexico and Philippines. The situation is relatively better in Georgia, Turkey, Brazil and China and miserable in Belarus, Azerbaijan, Russia and Pakistan. Denmark, Finland and Sweden are the least corrupt countries, according to their citizens while Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia are the most corrupt countries.
