Closed highways in republic
The RA Ministry of Transport and Communication informs that on January 19 as of 09:30 it is snowing in Talin, Aparan, Aragats, Maralik, Artik, Spitak, Vanadzor, Abovyan, Hrazdan highways and Dilijan. Due to storm and low visibility Berd-Chambarak highway and Vardenyats mountain pass are closed. At night as of 01:30 Tsaghkahovit-Alagyaz road sector of Horom-Artik-Alagyaz highway was opened. Interstate and republican highways are open. In order to ensure safe traffic the roads are being cleaned with salt and sand. In order to refrain from accidents, incidents and traffic jams the RA Ministry of Transport and Communication urges drivers to use winter tires. MTAES informs: In the RA Vayots Dzor marz in the 8-9th km of Areni-Khachik highway rock explosion activities are being carried out, as a result of which the abovementioned road is closed in one direction. Before restoration of traffic drivers are advised to use Noravank-Amaghu-Khachik road. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia informs Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles in case of using tire chains (except for trucks with trailers).
