The number of people infected with pandemic H1N1 virus known as ‘swine flu’ has reached 89 in Armenia, Anahit Haytayan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Healthcare, told A1+. However, she says there is not a risk of an outbreak and they are doing everything to prevent the spread of infection. “I would advise people to keep their guards up and not to panic. We also advise everyone against receiving home treatment and turn to doctors and specialists upon seeing the first symptoms. The more days they lose, the worse for them. Incorrect treatment and negligence will further complicate the flu,” she said. People infected with H1N1 virus usually have temperature, have cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. The condition of eight patients is said to be severe. Swine flu is a swine respiratory disease caused by the influenza type A virus. It was first detected in Mexico in 2009. Later the A H1N1 subtype spread throughout American and then European countries.
