Al Ain Classic: Zaven Andreasyan wins his Round 6 game
Armenian chess player Zaven Andreasyan won Mishra Svayams of India in Round 6 of Al Ain Classic, a strong open tournament in the Unites Arab Emirates. Andreasyan scored 4 points. Armenia’s Robert Hovhannisyan and Hovhannes Gabuzyan also have 4 points. Arman Pashikyan tied his game with Levan Pantsulaia of Georgia. Pashikyan has 4,5 points and is one point behind the tournament leader Wang Hao. Today, Pashikyan will face French GM Fabien Libiszewski. Zaven Andreasyan will compete with Igor Kovalenko (Latvia), Robert Hovhannisyan and Hovhannes Gabuzyan will face Alexander Kovchan (Ukraine) and Sergei Zhigalko (Belarus), respectively. The tournament is held in the Swiss system in 9 rounds.
