Nayiri Sahyan, the son and only living descendant of the noted Armenian poet Hamo Sahyan, has decided to his father's unpublished archive. “I have to take that step so that I can open a statue of Hamo Sahyan in Yerevan. I also want to have a Hamo Sahyan house-museum set up in Lor village,” Nayiri Sahyan told A1+. He added that he has been struggling for four years to have a statue of Hamo Sahyan in Yerevan and a house-museum in his birthplace – in the village of Lor in Sisian region. The archive includes the original letters of Gurgen Mahari, Paruyr Sevak, Gegham Sargyan, Stepan Zoryan, Vahgan Davtyan, Gevorg Emin, Garegin Sevunts, Andrei Tarkovsky and many others addressed to the Armenian writer, as well as his original works, telegrams, and articles. Nayiri Sahyan can be reached at the number 055 53 08 13.
