World Soccer discovers secrets of Armenian football
English World Soccer football magazine, which has 40 000 regular subscribers in the world, dedicated 4 out of 100 pages of its November edition to the Armenian football.
Steve Menary, author of the article visited Yerevan and was present in Armenian Premiere League’s “Alashkert”-“Pyunik” and “Ararat”-“Ulisses” matches, spoke to the heads of the clubs, coaches, football agents, and journalists.
In particular, the English journalist found out the annual budget (EUR 2 million) of FC Alashkert, current leader of Armenian Premiere League, salaries of the football players (USD 1000-5000 per month).
In a separate column the author presented the clubs of Armenian Premiere League and five most influential players of Armenian football.
By learning about the etymology of the name “Alashkert”, in his article Steve Menary also touched upon the Armenian Genocide.
