Weightlifting: Andranik Karapetyan wins small bronze
Armenian wrestlers have won their first medal at the Houston World Weightlifting Championships. In the 77 kg weight class, Armenia’s Andranik Karapetyan lifted 167 kg to win a small medal. After posting 393 in the clear and jerk, Karapetyan came forth, yielding to Mohamed Ihab of Egypt. In the same w/c, Armenia’s Tigran Martirosyan, the former World Champion, was unable to lift 163 kg in snatch.
