Salt and mascara: young man illustrating Yerevan has new “tools” (video)
Just a few months ago 21-year-old Robert Nikoghosyan was an ordinary alumni of Academy of Fine Arts, but recently he has become one of the most recognizable persons of Yerevan. He decorates the different corners of Yerevan with portraits of famous Armenians. Robert told “A1+” that for the first time he drew the portrait of Mher Mkrtchyan.
“I love Frunzik very much and decided to draw his portrait. Then I starting painting other great people,” he said.
Robert Nikoghosyan says that he himself chooses the heroes of his graffiti based on the quality of their photos. The young man regrets to say that he wants very much to draw the graffiti of Monte Melkonyan in the center of the city, but he cannot find a well-preserved photo. Yet, he has realized his desire in a different way: Robert has started drawing with salt and mascara.
By the way, Robert Nikoghosyan has not only been praised for his graffiti, but also received complaints. “As it is a new thing, that’s why there have been such opinions. Graffiti are widespread in other cities,” he said.
Robert doesn’t hurry to reveal who will be his next hero and which part of the city he will illustrate. “I will do and you will see,” he summed up.
