Charles Aznavour makes another royal gift to Armenians (video)
The great chansonnier who has ‘conquered’ the entire world, who is not only loved by Arenians scattered all over the world, who continues to travel around the world giving concerts in overcrowded halls and moving hearts of people despite his age, means more for the Armenians. He is our pride, our ambassador to the world, a person whose name is linked with Armenia and a person who gives his great name to Armenia. Charles Aznavour has made another royal gift to Armenia. The fact that the 31st session of the Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) was held in Armenia was already a big event for the country and Aznavour’s concert in Yerevan carried a special significance in this context. “This is a great opportunity to unite OIF members. I do not understand anything in politics, but I believe it will strengthen friendly relations,” Charles Aznavour had said. Many people in the hall sang along with him throughout the concert. On the sidelines of the event, Armenia hosted ministers and heads of delegations representing 80 states and governments of La Francophonie members who had an opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and history of the country. “The Yerevan-hosted session of the Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the International Organization of La Francophonie was held in i excellent conditions and was organised was on the highest possible level," Foreign Minister of Senegal Mankeur Ndiaye said at a press conference. Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Michaëlle Jean, added that ‘the representatives of 80 countries who have gathered in Armenia are talking about Armenia with profound gratitude.’
