Should the Communist Party of Armenia (HKK) receive an invitation from Baghramyan 26, they would not refuse to meet Serzh Sargsyan and discuss with him the constitutional changes. “Serzh Sargsyan could have sent us an invitation as well because the Communist Party ruled the country for 70 years and the country flourished when we were in power. And as foreigners usually say, “If you want to see miracles, visit the Soviet Union,” HHK First Secretary Tachat Sargsyan told A1+. He wants the authorities to answer the following question: to which extent has the working Constitution benefited or interfere with the current situation? We do not believe that the situation is to be blamed on the Constitution. I am speaking about migration, lack of workplaces, increasing poverty and monopolies. Anyway, the HHK is still undecided whether to vote for or against the constitution changes. Tachat Sargsyan reminds that the party boycotted the previous two constitutional amendments. “Now we are discussing the amendments and visiting regional branches. We have already been in Yeghegnadzor and Artashat. We shall summarize the results of discussions at the party’s plenary meeting and make a final decision on our position,” said the HHK First Secretary. Speaking about the No front which is campaigning against the constitutional amendments, Mr Sargsyan said, “I am glad that we have young people who are not indifferent to the domestic and foreign policy of the country but the HKK will not support or follow anyone. Ours is a unique organization.” In conclusion, he assured us that the party has more than 20000 members in Armenia.
