New Armenia front to hold nationwide rally in Yerevan (video)

The newly-formed public salvation front called “New Armenia” today convened its first press conference announcing the formation of its political board and united headquarters, as well as the strategy and tactics of the front. The political board features Raffi Hovannisian, Founding Chairman of the Heritage Party, Armen Martirosyan, Deputy Chairman of the party, Garegin Chugaszyan, Chairman of the Founding Parliament Initiative, Jirayr Sefilyan, Coordinator of the Initiative, Petros Makeyan, Chairman of the Democratic Fatherland Party, Hmayak Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Union of Political Scientists of Armenia, and Andrias Ghukasyan, representative of the “Rise up, Armenia” movement. Jirayr Sefilyan was elected Head of the joint headquarter stationed at 75 Yerznkyan in Yerevan. - Given the gradually deepening systemi ccrisis in Armenia resulted by the violation of the constitutional order, approbation of power, systemic corruption - considering that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) that makes part of the criminal regime and bears full responsibility for the aforesaid actions, has started a process of establishing a one-party system in the country through constitutional changes which aims to perpetuate their power - stating that the prospect will further escalate domestic and external challenges faced by the country and will cause the collapse of the financial system and give rise to fatal military threats over time, - claiming that in the given situation a legitimate form of expression of people’s will is possible only by showing civil disobedience, going to the street and mobilizing people the New Armenia front plans to mobilize people, unseat Serzh Sargsyan and his regime through civil disobedience, thwart the adoption of the new constitution and form a transitional government of people's trust. The front will announce the launch of its activities holding a nationwide rally in Yerevan.
