Referendum campaign kicks off

During today’s session the Central Electoral Commission (the CEC) approved the timetable of the referendum due on December 6. The CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan noted that Serzh Sargsyan’s October 8 decree on the date of referendum was published the day before in the Official record and it means that the official campaign kicks off today, October 10, and will last until December 4. TV and radio companies, irrespective of the form of ownership, must present the cost of one minute of campaign broadcast on their channel until October 19. The polling stations must be formed until October 22. The electoral lists will be presented to the CEC until October 26 for the publication. Forty days before the referendum, on October 26, the electoral lists will be hung in the polling stations. By the way, 30 days before the referendum, on November 6, the Public Television and Radio company must present the amount of free and paid airtime to the CEC, which is intended exclusively for the NA deputies and factions.
