Nobel Prize for Literature to Belarusian author

Belarusian author Svetlana Alexievich was awarded 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature by the Nobel Committee "for her polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time." According to the British bookmaker offices Alexievich was considered the main favorite of the prize winner. Still in 2013 she was considered to be the favorite, when the Canadian author Alice Munro became the prize winner. The famous works of Alexievich include "The Chernobyl Prayer", "The War's Unwomanly Face", "Last Witness", and "Zinky Boys." "The War's Unwomanly Face" wasn’t published for two years. “Firstly, war is a murder, then- hard work,” once said Alexievich.
