Weightlifting: Izabella Yaylyan becomes Champion of Europe
Armenian weightlifters won three medals at the Junior and U23 European Weightlifting Championships. At U-20 girls’ fight, Izabella Yaylyan performed very successfully and won gold and a Champion of Europe after lifting 194 kg (88+106) in 58 k/w category. She left behind her main rival, Ukraine’s Veronika Ivasyuk, by 1kg. Irina Baymulkina of Russia came third with a result of 186 kg (85+101). Earlier, Armenia’s Smbat Margaryan (56 kg w/c) and Marzpet Minasyan (56 kg w/c) won silver medals.
