According to the specialist in Iranian studies Gohar Iskandaryan, the construction of Armenia-Iran railway is a brilliant project. “But for realizing it more than USD 3 billion is needed. Will China, which has promised, provide the money, and will we be able to realize it? There were great expectations connected with North-South road. The project is coming to its end, but we don’t see even half of the work.” The project, of course, is also beneficial to China in terms of Silk Road. “About 7-8 roads open for them,” highlighted Mrs. Iskandaryan. Nevertheless, the specialist in Iranian studies thinks that our authorities have political will in the issue of implementation of the project. The existence of the railway will take our country out of blockade. “Seas and oceans will open in front of us.” Iran is an important partner for our country also in terms on energy. “There will be exchange of energy, during summer we will provide them electricity and during winter they will provide us, it is a good cooperation.”
