It is difficult to visit Choratan village of Tavush marz not only because it is a border village. The road, which leads to this faraway village, is very difficult to pass. In general, this village doesn’t have many guests, but after the recent shooting specially journalists have become interested in it. Fortunately, there have been no casualties, only a car has been damaged, “It seems as if the ice melted, different media often visit,” says deputy village headman of Choratan. There are two Kalantar Kalantaryan in the world, and one of them is me, says the deputy village headman. Villagers never forget about the problems of the village. “We have a problem with purveyance of livestock food, specially problems with meat, which has been one of the priorities of the village for many years.” Kalantar Kalantaryan says that he always suggests solutions to the problem. The problem of drinking water is one of the priorities. “During the drought years our sources are drying, we are lacking water. All the natural sources have been transferred to the village, but it isn’t enough too.” By the way, about a month ago a fountain was built in the village in memory of five freedom fighters of the village. “We built the fountain, but we are not able to bring water, we are short of money. And you have already given one part,” says village headman. The problem with water won’t be wholly solved with AMD 1 million donated by Etchmiadzin Municipality. In case of getting the same amount of money once again, 60 families of the village will have drinking water.
