Before putting the draft constitution to a vote, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakayn repeatedly said, “All lawmakers are invited to the hall. We are starting to vote.” Few lawmakers were seen in the hall at that time. Hearing Mr Sahakyan’s words, many hurried to the hall to take their seats and prepare for the vote. Some were even running not to be late for the important moment. “Do, hurry up, be a little more diligent,” Sahakyan was saying. Just at that moment, Hovhannes Sahakyan of the Country of Law Party (OEK) announced that the National Assembly had not accepted their proposals and requested a twenty-minute recess which was upheld by the NA Speaker.
