Mandatory fingerprinting of Russian applicants for Schengen visas
Russian applicants for Schengen visas are to be fingerprinted starting on September 14. Experts believe that decision might impact the number of Russian citizens visiting Schengen zone countries, bringing the number to its minimum. Vladimir Kantorovich of "Deutsche Welle" says the main reason for visit the EU countries is the depreciation of the Russian rouble. The number of European tourists wishing to travel to Russia decreased by 20 percent in the first quarter of 2015.
