Armenia does not take steps to hinder Azerbaijan
By keeping the situation tense on its border with Armenia, Azerbaijan is trying to change the political situation in the region and the international community’s attitude towards the Karabakh conflict. Azerbaijan is also trying to create a new relationship with Russia and this is the main reason for the escalation of tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Director of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) Manvel Sargsyan said on Friday. Speaking about Armenia’s foreign policy, he said the Armenian Foreign Ministry is not taking any steps to obstruct Azerbaijan’s policy. “I do not see the effective police we have been speaking about in recent years. When Russia began to increase the sale of modern firearms… This is quite a different thing. Armenia does not have such weapons… This is a serious matter. But what have we done to prevent this policy or create a counterbalance,” he said.
