Syunik Governor says it was his own decision

Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, today wrote on his Facebook account that after a discussion with officials in Syunik it was decided to reverse the decision to appoint Zarzand Nikoghosyan Assistant Principal of a school in Kapan. In conversation with armtimes.com, Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan denied the information that Nikoghosyan had been dismissed after the Minister’s motion. “He [Nikoghosyan] was not even appointed to the post, there has never been such an order,” he said. When reminded that the principal of the school had personally told the media about Nikoghosyan’s appointment, Mr Khachatryan said, “Now, I tell you that Zarzand Nikoghosyan has not been appointed Vice-Principal of any school, even though the teaching staff, pupils and principal had such a desire. But since I was not here, there was not such an order. They had to wait for me to issue the order but I refused to do it.” When armtimes.com tried to verify whether the decision was given by the Ministry of Education and Science or by the Syunik governor, Mr Khachatryan said, “It was my personal decision.”
