The smell of Eastern spices makes you approach the food pavilion that opened in an underground passageway of Hanrapetutyan Hraparak (Republic Square) metro station a month ago. The pavilion offers delicious, quick and easy meals to passers-by. Petros Davudyan, a 28-year-old ethnic Armenian from Syria, moved to Yerevan three years ago with a clear purpose ‘to settle in Armenia and start his own business in my homeland.’ Petros makes everything with his own hands, putting great love and soul in every dish. The Syrian Armenians is satisfied with his clients. “Those who tried my dishes went away happily and brought new clients with them,” says Petros. Today his main concern is his family who is still in Syria.
