Hovhannes Ghazaryan, member of “Youth revolt” civil initiative, raises alarms about oppressions against members of their movement. Without mentioning concrete names, Hovhannes only notes, that indirectly the members of the movement are forced not to take part in the protest actions organized by the initiative. For that reason today the public discussion intended at the Liberty Square wasn’t held. “There have been oppressions against two members of our initiative. Their parents received phone calls, they were threatened and told that their children were going to organize strikes and protest actions. Their parents were dismissed from their jobs,” noted Hovhannes Ghazaryan. In reply to the question by “A1+” the latter said that it is a step organized by the authorities in order to frighten them. Initially it was known that today’s public discussion would be connected with the draft of the constitutional amendments, after which the young people were going to organize strikes with their own initiative. Today, though, as Hovhannes Ghazaryan informed, they were going to discuss only the problems of students studying at different universities as well as their future actions against bribes and other problems in universities. He also told that still in 2013 he was dismissed from State College of Informatics because of taking part in strikes. But according to the words of Hovhannes all this won’t have any influence on their fight. In the near future they are going to start a news Facebook initiative on the topic of students’ issues.
