There is only sun in Arevadasht
There is neither drinking water nor gas in most part of little village Arevadasht in Armavir marz. There is only sun here. At present the village has about 300 residents. The situation is even worse especially in the area populated by Yazidis. Here people buy drinking water and sometimes use the irrigation water. “We yearn for water. We have elected a village head for two times, he says that he will solve the problem, but it isn’t done,” said resident Shirin Abasyan. According to his words, every day they have to take money from their little budget for buying drinking water. “For daily use we need 200-300 liters water. We buy water every other day at 500 drams for per liter.” Shirin’s relative Kyalash Abasyan is also angry because of lack of water, “I go by car and bring 150 liters for daily use, but it ends until evening.” There are two underage children in Kyalash’s family. They hardly survive by animal breeding. During this period many Yazidis of the village have left including his relatives. “W are 7-8 brothers, because of the problem with drinking water they left for Europe,” says Kyalash. Because of the conditions, he has also decided to move to Russia together with his family. Most of all he is offended by one thing, “It seems as if Yazidis are neglected in this village.” The visit was organized by Armenian representation of “People in need” organization.
