Citizens in Armenia follow the discussions over constitutional reforms initiated by Serzh Sargsyan. “Political forces had better participate in the discussions and decide which position is more acceptable,” said most of our respondents. “No, they need not meet Serzh Sargsyan or should boycott his initiatives because he does not care about our citizens,” said a citizen. “The meeting is necessary for it will help different political forces to find a better solution to the matter,” said another citizen. Some of our respondents believe that these meetings show the real picture of the political sphere. “I believe that the meetings are formal. Everything is already decided, and I do not think that the discussions will change anything.” Among opposition forces, only the Armenian National Congress (HAK), People’s Party of Armenia (HZhK) have refused the invitation of Serzh Sargsyan. The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) was initially against the constitutional reforms but now it has changed its position. “Even if you oppose something you should participate in the discussions.” “I think the Heritage Party took a right decision by not participating in the discussion. There is nothing to discuss there.” Many of our respondents were against the constitutional reforms. For more details watch the video.
