Activist to policemen: You are our servants, who gave you the right to beat us?
Two of the activists of the Rise, Armenia initiative today tried to break through the police cordon and sit on the central part of Republic Square. However, the police forcefully moved them from the central spot of the square, holding them by hands and feet. An elderly man, who saw police officers hitting a young man in the process, began scolding them. “You are our servants. How dare you beat us? Who gave you the right to beat us?” the other activists joined him, chanting, “Shame on you!” The activists then blocked the streets leading to the square but the police again forcibly pushed them away from the square.
