The son of controversial Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan, who was detained at the weekend in connection with the May 2 incident in the southeastern town of Goris, was taken to court this morning. Photolure.am took photos of Tigran  Khachatryan outside the court building. Khachatryan is suspected of committing actions which are punishable with imprisonment of up to 7 years under Article 112 of Armenia’s Criminal Code. Tigran Khachatryan was reportedly among several dozen men who beat up and seriously injured brothers Harut and Mushegh Zakaryan outside Goris, at a place known as Sdghi Gyol, on May 2. Harut lost vision in one eye while his elder brother Mushegh suffered a broken nose. The brothers claimed that the attackers were led by the 22-year-old Tigran Khachatryan. The parents of the injured brothers claim that their sons had been beaten up with stick, clubs and metal items as a result of which Harut lost the sight of one of his eyes.
