Police disallow protesters to march through Yerevan streets (video)
The situation is tense at Liberty Square where protesters want to hold a march while the police do not allow them to march along the streets of Yerevan. Minutes ago, independent politician Andrias Ghukasyan announced that protesters should walk through the streets but they were stopped by police officers led by Deputy Chief of Yerevan’s Police Valery Osipyan who said the march was not sanctioned. After the group said they were going to hold an awareness march, Osipyan said it would be viewed as a provocation and urged protesters to stay at Liberty Square. People are now chanting, “Shame on you, Osipyan!”
