Several minutes ago, Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan came up to citizens at Liberty Square who continue protests against the electricity price rise in the country. Osipyan told journalists that they will not allow protesters to hold a march in the Armenian capital. Besides, he said protesters need permission to stay at the square. “I warn you against holding illegal rallies and inciting provocations. The Armenian society has won, this is a great achievement. We have enough forces to prevent unauthorized marches,” Osipyan said. In reply to the question what measures they were going to take against police officers, who applied violence against the detainees, the Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police said, “I do not believe that the police used violence. If anyway, if there were such cases, we shall be consistent.”
