Traffic has been restored in Baghramyan Avenue on Monday after the Armenian Police decided to unblock the street after two-week protesters there against the rising electricity prices. Earlier on Monday, the police gave protesters until 12:30 to open the avenue, saying otherwise they will do it themselves. Also, Deputy Police Chief Hunan Poghosyan and Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan urged protesters in Baghramyan Avenue to move to nearby Liberty Square or some other place and continue their protest there without obstructing the traffic. Scores of citizens have been taken to police stations from the avenue in the result of police actions. The dismantling took place hours after protesters threatened to start advancing the barricade towards the presidential administration building on Baghramyan 26 if their demands remained unanswered. At present, police officers are standing on both pavements and guarding the avenue.
