NSS Head to journalists: Don’t show off! Mind your own business! (video)
The National Security Council will investigate the May 20 assault on the car of Syunik marz governor Suren Khachatryan. The Prosecutor General's Office has already sent a written notification to the NSS. Explaining the reasons for such a decision, NSS Head Gorik Hakobyan told reporters that ‘it stemmed from broad conclusions.’ When asked to explain the phrase ‘broad conclusions’, Mr Hakobyan said, “Do have a little patience!” When reporters tried to clarify details, the NSS official began to insult them saying, “Don’t show off! Mind your own business! Go ahead! Once cannot be so eloquent! How old are you? First learnt rules of etiquette, then ask questions…” On May 20, Suren Khachatryan, his driver and assistant came under fire on the road connecting Kapan to Goris, the governor’s hometown also located in Syunik. No harm came to the governor and his driver in the shooting though 10 bullets were shot in their direction breaking the windshield and side windows. A criminal case was opened shortly afterwatds under a Criminal Code clause dealing with murder attempts.
