Criminal case instituted based on complaint of garbage collecting company

The Investigative Department of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts has filed a criminal case based on the complaint of Sanitek Ltd, a garbage collecting company, in connection with trash containers used by protesters in Baghramyan Avenue as barricades to shield them from the police. According to the complaint, the company needs the trash containers in their work. A.Karapetyan, a representative of the company, said in the compliant that on June 23, unknown person[s] took [to Baghramyan Avenue] over 41 dustbins placed in different streets of Kentron administrative district, used them as barricades against police officers, thereby causing large-scale damage to the company. The criminal case has been filed under Article 185 (part 3, point 1) of the Armenian Criminal Law – deliberate destruction or damage of other’s property. Within the framework of the criminal case, the corresponding units of the Armenian Police have been tasked to confiscate the aforesaid 41 dustbins belonging to Sanitek Ltd.
