Electricity price increase isn’t pleasant to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan, “It isn’t pleasant to anyone. It is not desirable work for anyone to be engaged in it: there are situations, which force you to give solutions to some issues. One of those issues is electricity price increase. I understand the protesters: all the citizens have complaints, there are social issues. Relevant studies are being carried out connected with the price increase.” He doesn’t think that the price of “Lexus” cars and lands obtained by the leadership of the ENA will be included in the electricity price, “The Public Services Regulatory Commission is also examining it, but the additional expenses aren’t included in the price. They are done at the expense of the companies’ profits. I think that they won’t be included in the price. I don’t think that electricity price will increase by 17 drams. The Commission will make a final statement on that.” He thinks that even if the commission plans that this or that institution should obtain cars, the commission is guided by the norms set by the Government. In all other cases the companies make purchases at their own profits’ expense. Asked whether the Minister will personally intervene so that the price won’t increase, he answered, “Price increase and such situation aren’t pleasant also to me and to anyone.”
