Liparit Petrosyan, one of the participants of the “Revolution of values” campaign initiated by radical opposition Tseghakron party leader Shant Harutyunyan, has followed the advice of Founding Parliament member Zhirayr Sefilyan and stopped the hunger strike. He resorted to this extreme form of protest on May 15 to express his discontent with persecution against members and supporters of the Founding Parliament movement and the Cassation Court’s decision to reject the appeal against unlawful actions against radical opposition Tseghakron party leader Shant Harutyunyan and his friends. Last week, Zhirayr Sefilyan called on Petrosyan to stop the hunger strike. In November 2014, the ‘Revolution of Values’ was attempted in Yerevan  as Shant Harutyunyan and his supporters rallied around the idea staging a protest in the Armenian capital. After clashes between the protesters and riot police dozens of activists were detained, some of them were later arrested and tried. Liparit Petrosyan was sentenced to five years in prison.
