Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan also referred to the latest events in Syunik province. Tigran Khachatryan, the notorious son of Syunik Governor Surik Khachatryan, was involved in a May 2 incident in the province. Tigran, 22, was reportedly among several dozen men who beat up and seriously injured brothers Harut and Mushegh Zakaryan outside Goris city on May 2. Harut lost vision in one eye while his elder brother Mushegh suffered a broken nose. The brothers claimed that the attackers were led by Tigran Khachatryan. Karen Andreasyan says he has received a letter from the Zakaryans in connection with the May 2 assault on the two brothers and has already applied to law enforcement agencies. “You are asking me questions which are beyond my competence. As a citizen, I can also ask questions about different people but it is beyond my competence.  As for your question whether the people who caused the boy [Harut] serious vision problems during the incident, I must say that we are working in that direction,” he said.
