The National Assembly is discussing on Monday the annual report on the state budget execution for 2014. Deputy Finance Minister, Chief Treasurer Atom Janjugazyan said in his speech that as compared with 2013, the unemployment rate had gone up by 1,4 percent to make 16,7 percent. Economic growth amounted to 5.3 percent in the first three quarters of 2014, but it significantly slowed down by yearend. The annual growth was 3.4 percent due to the slowdown in external demand, currency devaluation and decrease in money transfers from Russia. The average inflation rate was 3.0 percent in 2014. State budget revenues recorded a growth of 6.9%, expenditures and GDP increased by 8% and 3.4%, respectively. Mr Janjugazyan stressed that growth in services and agricultural sector contributed to the economic growth. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan did not make a speech. Moreover, he left the hall through the back door. Last year, Mr Abrahamyan said he had recently been appointed to the post [of Prime Minister] and could not present a report on Budget Execution and Budgetary Resources.
