Levon Aronyan- champion of Russia
Armenian leading chess player Levon Aronyan became the champion of Russia in the team “Sibir” (Novosibirsk). Today the matches of the last 7th round of Russian Club Championship are underway in Sochi. “Sibir”, which leads the charts with 12 points, and is still competing with the outsider of the championship “Yamal” , has been already recognized the champion of the championship, as “Universitet”, which had been following “Sibir”, ended in a draw with “Saint Petersburg” and finally took the second prize. Today Levon Aronyan hasn’t taken part in the match with “Yamal”. So, he took part in 5 matches of the team, gained 2 victories and ended three matches in a draw. To remind, Levon Aronyan had become the champion of Germany in the team “Baden-Baden”.
