On May 3 parliamentary elections were held in the NKR, which were highly assessed by the international observers. What is the significance of these elections for Armenia as a country, which has taken over the responsibility for conducting the negotiations in connection with Karabakh issue in the international organizations: in response to this question of  “A1+” journalist, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan noted, “First of all these elections are for the NKR and normal elections are needed for governing any country. Karabakh is developing in a normal democratic way and it can be used, as Karabakh has such country before it, with which it cannot be compared (considering Azerbaijan), where, we can say, no elections are held. It must also be used in some way. No one recognizes Karabakh, no one openly speaks about it, but when the international observers or any representative from the international community including the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group come to Karabakh, with whom do they meet? Of course, with the elected authorities and it is very important.” Touching upon the reaction of the Minsk Group, Mr. Iskandaryan noted, that it was rather interesting, as by highlighting that the elections don’t affect the position of the Minsk Group, nevertheless the Group welcomed the fact that the people of Karabakh use their right to organize its elections.
