Opposition activist: They may even say that I fell on a piercing tool without realizing it (video)
Hrachik Mirzoyan, an activist of the Armenian opposition movement Founding Parliament who was injured during a rally held by the group in Armenia’s Gyumri city, is already recovering. Mirzoyan underwent surgery and had his spleen removed by doctors after the incident. The activist does not believe that Kamo Khachatryan, the man who attacked and stabbed him would ever be punished. “Given the situation of our judicial system I think they will do everything for him [Kamo Khachatryan] not to appear in the dock. They may even say that I fell on a piercing tool and did not realise what happened to me,” Hrachik Mirzoyan told A1+. The FP member blames the police rather than Khachatryan and says the police did nothing to avert the incident aimed at disrupting the rally. “But police officers remained indifferent and closed their eyes to the stabbing,” he said adding that the police did what they had been ordered to do.
