Mayor Taron Margaryan received the Tavijyan brothers
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan received the famous jazz musicians Garon and Diran Tavijyans who arrived in Yerevan to take part in the traditional jazz concert held by the initiative of the Mayor of Yerevan at Cascade complex. The young representatives of the Tavijyans who were excluded from Western Armenia and settled in Macedonia have already performed more than four hundred concerts with various famous musicians. Greeting the guests Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that watching the activity of the brothers he highly appreciated their role in the world music art and contribution to upholding the Armenian identity. “Every year Yerevan hosts numerous famous musicians both of Armenian and of other nations. I am glad for your visit and I am also proud that we have such compatriots, who deserving various honorary titles always uphold the Armenian honour. The doors of the capital are always open for the Armenians worldwide. Be confident that the Municipality within its powers is always ready to support all cultural initiatives. I am sure that after your first visit to Yerevan there will be other pleasant occasions to meet”, stressed Taron Margaryan and wished the Armenian jazzmen new creative achievements as well as a successful and unforgettable concert. Expressing gratitude for warm reception and for willingness to assist the Tavijyan brothers shared their impressions of the capital and noted that they had been looking for their meeting with the audience. The brothers also informed that during the desired visit they had a new creative idea and they intend to come up with a new project and present the world the works of art by classical Armenian musicians. “We are greatly impressed by Yerevan and have inexplicable feelings. We really feel at home here. Living an creating outside homeland we have attached importance to spreading Armenian culture. Be sure that in the future we will also have the opportunities to represent it in the bet way. Mister Mayor, thank you once more for your willingness”, said Garon and Diran Tavijyans.
